But before we dive in it is very important to know about sitemap difference between XML sitemap and HTML sitemap and why it is important for your blog to submit a sitemap? 

What is Sitemap?

A sitemap is basically, as the word sounds, is the map of your website/blog.

The sitemap contains all the URLs of the pages inside your blog. It helps the Search Engines crawlers to index your blog. But the new bloggers are unaware of it therefore their blogs are not visible on Search Engines.

A Sitemap is of two types either an HTML or XML.

What is HTML Sitemap?

HTML sitemap is just like the regular Html blog page which is visible to visitors as well as to the search bots.

The best thing about the HTML sitemap is that it shows all your post in an organized way so that the visitors can navigate through all your post from a single page.

What is XML Sitemap?

An XML sitemap helps the search engines bots to navigate through your blog and find all the URLs on your blog and add it to their database.

An XML sitemap is a .xml file attached to your blog which provides all the URLs linked to your blog to the crawlers.

An XML sitemap file contains all your post URL with additional information of each URL such as indexing priority, updating frequency or the size of your sitemap which can affect the crawling rate of your blog.

How to Create XML Sitemap in Blogger?

It is very easy to create an XML sitemap for your blog. You did not need to do anything just follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Log in to your blogger account.

Step 2: Select the blog for which you want to create the sitemap.

Step 3: Go to Settings and then Custom robots.txt and just paste the following line of code in it.

Sitemap: https://yourblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml?
redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

Replace "yourblog.blogspot.com" with your blog URL.

Step 4: Save it and You are done.

You have successfully created the sitemap for your blog.

To submit the Blogspot blog sitemap to Google search console follow my steps.

Step 1: Sign in to Google Search Console Account with the same account which is connected to your Blogspot blog.

Step 2: Now Select "Add property" and Enter your blogspot blog URL in Domain section and click on 'Continue'. It will automatically verify your ownership.

Step 3: Now Under 'Index' Tab select Sitemap.

Step 4: Add the sitemap URL here. For instance, if you don't know sitemap URL then copy this URL and replace example.blogspot.com with your own blog URL. 

https://example.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml

Step 5: Click on Submit.

Congratulation You have successfully submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console.
