Windows 10 : Seven Mantras Will Make Work Easier



Windows is the most popular and user-friendly Operating system developed by Microsoft.  In this modern era of technology, almost every computer comes with Windows operating system.

It is being used in nine billion devices worldwide.  Windows 10 has many user-friendly features that help to make work easier and faster.

Let's know about some such mantras:-

Secret Start Menu

Windows 10 has a second start menu that helps to use the Command prompt, Control Panel, and Task Manager. Well, it's not really a secret, but it is a convenient way to access important features.

To access the Secret Start Menu, all you need to do is Right-click the Windows Icon/Start button or you can also access this Secret Menu with the Keyboard shortcut Windows Key + X.

Take a Screenshot 

Windows 10 has many features that a user can use to take a Screenshot. The easiest way is to use a keyboard shortcut Windows Key + Print Screen Key to take a full screenshot. This picture is automatically saved in the screenshot folder.

To take a half screenshot, press the Shift + S with the windows key ( Windows Key + Shift +S ), this will open the snip and sketch tool, which will allow you to take half Screen-shot.

Minimize All Window Except Active One

Clutter spreads when multiple tabs are open while working multiple times on Windows 10. In such a case, windows 10 gives the user the option to minimize all the tabs except the active one.

To minimize all the tab except active one, all you have to do is click on the title bar of the window you want to open and move the window once or twice or shake it with the help of a mouse. This will hide all other windows.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Great keyboard shortcuts you need to know that can help your day to day work grind.

  • Task View - Windows Key + Tab
  • Moves app to top right quadrant - Windows Key + right + up
  • Virtual Desktop - Windows Key + Ctrl + left/right
  • New Virtual Desktop  -  Windows Key + Ctrl + D
  • Cortana - Windows Key+ Shift + C
  • Close Virtual Desktop - Windows Key + Ctrl + F4
  • Snap Apps to top or bottom of screen or maximize - Windows Key + Up + Down 

Create an Event without Opening the Calendar 

Users can create an event directly on the taskbar without opening the Calendar. Go to the taskbar and click on the time and date box and choose the date, then enter the event name, location, and time in it. Here you will see the save event on all apps.

Activating Focus Assistant 

Users often get multiple notifications while working. This causes problems and distracts attention. 

To stop it all you have to do is Go to the system option of settings and select the focus feature and make sure that you get notifications according to your needs.

Enable Slide to Shutdown

This trick is complicated and not worth the effort for what you get out of it will make your work easier. Right-click on the desktop and select New > ShortCut. In the ensuing pop-up window, paste the following codes:

%windir%\System32\SlideToShutDown

This creates a clickable icon on your desktop, which you can be renamed. Then double-click on the new icon to prompt a pull-down shade and use your mouse to drag it down to the bottom of the screen. Keep in mind, this isn't sleep , this is a shutdown.
